  • Hello!

My name is Jessica Kamel, I’m a Sophamore at University Of Mary Washington and I’m majoring in Biomedical Sciences. Going to college as a path to medical school is a dream of mine since I was five-year-old. When I was five years my mother died in a motor vehicle accident, I was told that my mother could not be saved after the accident, since then, I wanted to be a doctor to save lives, treat and cure patients. My Legal Guardian is a retired doctor, she talks about a lot about her love of practicing medicine, her patients, the importance of good bed side manners, listening to patient’s question, answering, and treating them well. I am people’s person and my motto is adopted from the Rotary interact which is service over self, that means sacrificing myself, time and resources to those who are in need.

I volunteered at the church clinic, and I realized the extra communication skills, speaking as well as listening is very important character for a doctor, I used to visit the hospitals with our priest every Sunday to offer help, comfort, and donations. I am personally organized have problem solving skills, physically ordinance and diligence. Also, my maternal uncle is a family practitioner and I used to go with him to his clinic to help the front office staff. I have great empathy towards my fellow human being. I am highly motivated and given the chance to get to the medical school I know I will work hard and succeed in my future endeavors.
